A note to Cynthia's parents from a supervisor:

"Not a day has gone by since I heard of her death, that I have not thought about Cynthia with sadness and many tears. I was very proud of her accomplishments, as you should be, and had looked forward to seeing her continue to grow and blossom professionally and personally, as I know you did as well. She was a caring compassionate person with so much to offer to her family, friends and clients. Even when faced with adversity, she kept a positive outlook on life."

"Her love and admiration for her family was always evident. You should be proud knowing you gave her the support and encouragement to follow her convictions and do great things in the world. I regret that she will not be able to continue the work that she had just completed the training for. She had such high hopes for the future and had worked so hard to complete her education. So many people were touched by her in her short life, so many others will never have the opportunity to know her."

"I know she was a very spiritual person who had strong beliefs that gave her strength to overcome difficult times. If our souls live on, which I believe they do, God must have had a very special task for Cynthia's soul."

"I saw Cynthia by accident the day before the marathon. We weren't scheduled to meet since she had family in town, but I was working in Newton. I went to the public library to make copies after I finished work. As I was walking into the library, Cynthia was leaving. She was looking for a documentary film about running a marathon to watch that evening with you all. She was glowing with joy and excitement. They didn't have the film, but I suggested she try another branch. She said she was on her way to another library. I wished her well, gave her a hug and told her my thoughts would be with her the next day. I guess the universe was giving me a chance to say goodbye."

"I will always remember her full of joy and life the way she was that day. She was the kind of person who was always able to make lemonade out of lemons and find the positive, even when bad things would happen to her."
